Attorney General Brown Watching Reassessment Scams

Finally the AG of California is starting to research the Reassessment scams that are popping up every day.

If you received a letter from one of those companies indicating that they will help you reassess your home - please fax them to 916-914-2028. I will be forwarding the information to the State Board of Equalization and the Attorney Generals office.

Even the Treasury Secretary may lose money...

Talk about lousy timing. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner apparently bought his New York home in 2004 and is trying to sell it now--right into the teeth of the real estate crash. According to this AP article, the Treasury Secretary could face a loss even if the property sells at its asking price. But in a market like this, getting an asking price is a tall order.

I know! Tim Geithner could swap houses with David Lereah!

$2.4 Trillion gone...

Recently, experts in the real estate industry estimated the total amount of equity that has been lost by home owners across the nation... $2,400,000,000,000. (Did I get the number of zeros correct?)

If the population of the United States is 303,000,000... then each man, woman and child lost = $8,000 or a family of four lost $32,000.

That's not too bad... right????
